Exceptional team effort and victory. We played a team that was better on the ball and generally faster than we were but because we maintained discipline on the field and communicated clearly and remained composed on the ball, we prevailed. Mente McMillan sent a through ball to Ozzy Perez ten minutes into the game. Ozzy took the ball into the box and wide of the post. When a NB player tackled and fouled him, Ozzy had the presence of mind to fall down and draw the penalty kick. Ben Mulholland buried the PK in the back of the net minutes later. In the second half the team parked the bus in classic fashion, applying the right pressure in the midfield at the right time. NB had no breakaways and very few chances. Brendan Thayer recorded the shut out behind the superlative defensive work of the back four: Owen Wilcox, Brian Harwood, Daiver Perez, and Ryan Pish.
