The Nauset Girls Junior Varsity were defeated in their first game of the season. Immediate and constant full court press by Barnstable prevented the girls from succeeding offensively. Although some strong defense was shown by Nauset, quick transitions and break aways proved to be effective scoring methods for Barnstable. After regrouping at half-time, the Lady Warriors came back and played a much stronger third quarter, scoring more than double what they had in the first half. Freshman Kallie Hannon lead the team in scoring with six points. Sophomores, Kayla Smith and Brittany Silva also scored for Nauset. The JV Girls plan to use this game as a learning experience and work hard to make improvements as the season continues.
